Amalya Meira is a Fashion, Costume and Textile designer based in Brooklyn, NY. While approaching clothing as wearable sculpture, her work marries beauty and grit. The polished and exquisitely unrefined mingle through constant exploration in fabric manipulation, silhouette and upcycling.
Amalya Meira is a Fashion, Costume and Textile designer based in Brooklyn, NY. While approaching clothing as wearable sculpture, her work marries beauty and grit. The polished and exquisitely unrefined mingle through constant exploration in fabric manipulation, silhouette and upcycling.

Each of her pieces is one of kind - from the textile, down to the seam finishing. Experimental and distinctive in her design, Amalya practices zero-waste design in her work, and works predominantly with natural fibers.

Most recently she completed an artist residency at Mass MoCa, and has also shown her work at Vancouver and New York Fashion Weeks. Amalya Holds degrees from Central St. Martins, Parsons and Eugene Lang.

I've always wanted to be-I was raised making etchings off of the sidewalk and sun prints from leaves.
