FAVORITE SNACK/ PICK ME UP?
When Sadaks’ models lined up for the final walk to the song Yass Bish by Soulja Boy feat. Nicki Minaj, it became certain: baggy jeans, hoodie sweaters and golden necklaces belong to the past. As of now, we want to see all rappers and bad boys in Sadak’s reinterpretation of the “Szur”: a traditional robe from Serbia – homeland of Sadak Designer Sasa Kovacevic. For his prints Kovacevic combined ethnic and contemporary symbols to carry tradition into the now.
Rough men in tights and neatly tied footgear tattooed and with nicely dressed hair – Sadak’s collection celebrated contrast and was innovative and unique. “Pride in individuality” was Sadak’s message which he definitely brought onto Berlin’s fashion runway. Yass Bish!
Yass, Bish!
Model Jolie van Dijk is one of Amsterdam Fashion Week’s freshest faces on the runway. With just a few months of experience and her very first fashion week she is already a must have model. She opened last month for Aziz Bekkaoui at Mercedes-Benz Amsterdam Fashion Week and walked another major show – Dorhout Mees.
This dewey faced new star was discovered by top Amsterdam Fashion Photographer Giusy de Ceglia. Ms. de Ceglia, along with shooting the top shows of Amsterdam also discovers and represents favorite models she really believes in.
Jolie is already getting significant attention of casting major casting directors in the Netherlands and abroad.

Runway at Aziz Bekkaoui
WHAT WAS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF AMSTERDAM FASHION WEEK?
Doing the runway wearing all those stunning designer clothes.
It’s such an excitement and a honor to be allowed to do that. Makes you feel really special and beautiful.
WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING PART OF MODELING?
Having the chance to shine on the runway – and later on when all the publications come out.
You can step out of your daily routine for a while and become someone else. And I can’t wait to travel, meet new people and make new experiences.
WHAT’S THE MOST DIFFICULT?
You can’t really show your emotions when you’re doing the runway or while they take photos of you backstage.
WHAT GOES THROUGH YOUR HEAD WALKING DOWN THE RUNWAY?
I’m super excited and happy, enjoying that very special moment and knowing I’ll see my photos later on all those amazing and lovely websites. It’s surreal.
WHAT WENT THROUGH YOUR HEAD DURING THE FIRST SHOW YOU WALKED?
I was a little nervous of course, but was so worth it! They were the most amazing twenty seconds I’ve had in a while.
And in those twenty seconds the only two things I felt were excitement and happiness.
WHAT PLANS DO YOU HAVE FOR AFTER FASHION WEEK?
I’m going to work on my portfolio. Afterwards I’m hoping to go international.
WHICH LOOK FROM THE RUNWAY WAS YOUR FAVORITE, AND WHY?
The first outfit by the amazing Aziz Bekkaoui, that I got the honor to wear opening his show at Amsterdam Fashion Week.
It was such an awesome cool outfit and I loved the shoes.
WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNERS?
Actually I don’t have any ‘favorite’ designers, because I pay more attention to the clothing itself than the name on the label.
So I like various outfits from many different designers – but if I really had to choose I’d say Tommy Hilfiger, Jean Paul Gaultier, Oscar de la Renta, Coco Chanel, Valentino and Ralph Lauren.
WAS THERE ANY ROUTINE THAT YOU DID TO HELP YOU BEFORE YOU WENT ON THE RUNWAY TO PREPARE FOR THE SHOW?
To be honest with you, none in particular. Before a show I just try to stay calm and relaxed.
If I start thinking too much about it, I know it will go wrong.
ARE YOU WORKING ANY MORE RUNWAYS BESIDES AMSTERDAM FASHION WEEK? IF SO WHICH ONES ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO ATTENDING?
I started modeling just a few months ago and Amsterdam Fashion Week has been my first amazing experience. Got the honor to open for Aziz Bekkaoui and was booked for the beautiful show of Dorhout Mees as well. Things have gone really fast, but I’m loving it!!
Next it would be awesome to walk in Milan and Paris. Have heard from my agent there has been interest already, so I can’t wait to move onto the next step of this adventure.
WHEN AND WHY DID YOU START MODELING?
It all happened when I less expected it. A friend of mine who wanted to be a model asked me to take her to an Elite Model Look casting in our area last summer. Once we got there, she came up with the idea to make me sign up for it too, since I had nothing to lose anyway.
So I did and ended up in the finals. They didn’t offer me a contract, but that’s where I met Giusy de Ceglia, my current agent.
We clicked right away and it all went really fast. She met my parents and they were just as enthusiastic as I was. I signed a contract with Giusy and ever since I’ve had the most amazing model agency ever!
WHAT IS YOUR SKINCARE REGIME? WHAT HOLY-GRAIL PRODUCTS/METHODS DO YOU LIVE BY?
I remove my make-up with clean water. That takes all of your make-up off and it’s refreshing.
After I use a cleaning product from Lancôme and as final touch I put some night cream on my face.
HOW DO YOU STAY HEALTHY AND KEEP YOUR BODY IN SHAPE?
I drink a lot of water and juices and also sport often.
It’s really important to remove your make-up at the end of the day and avoid using cheap products that could irritate your skin.
WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR ANY STARTING OUT MODELS?
Keep your mind sharp and do not get easily nervous or carried away. If you expect too much or overestimate yourself, things will definitely go wrong. At the same time you must believe in yourself, otherwise you’ll fail. The most important thing is to be yourself and not try to change at any cost – You’re beautiful the way you are!
HOW HAS IT BEEN WORKING WITH GIUSY DE CEGLIA?
It’s been amazing! Giusy is such a lovely and caring person – and she always knows what’s going on. She is not just my ‘agent’ but also a true friend, because besides the modeling part she also really cares about how I feel. That’s what makes her special and different form a ‘normal’ agency. I think we have achieved a lot together over the past few months, thanks to her one-on-one approach. I’m currently the only model she is representing, which means she can fully focus on my development – besides her main work as a professional fashion photographer of course.
