There are so many amazing new fashion startups coming about lately. It is very exciting to watch as our world expands internationally. One we are really excited about is PreeLine which is a social trendsetting community where you can vote on next seasons collections and your opinion helps the designer create their next season collection.
We had a chance to talk to their very stylish Co-Founder (which she founded along with David Lamer) Julia Macalaster about PreeLine and Fashion.
WHAT IS PREELINE ABOUT?
PreeLine is a social trendsetting community where members can spark conversation and discover inspiration around future fashions.
WHO SHOULD USE IT AND WHY?
We’re a community of trendsetters, of empowered risk takers, and of incessantly social creatures. We’re here to have fun, to discover and to set the trend. If you love to discover, socialize and build this is the place for you.
WHAT MADE YOU COME UP WITH THE IDEA?
David Lamer, CEO and co-founder of PreeLine was sick of debating with his design teams about what would be their best seller. He realized that rather than debating he could just go ask the consumer what they want. With PreeLine we’re doing just that, inverting B2C and changing the way brands and consumers communicate.
WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST EXCITING PART OF STARTING IT AND WHAT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
The most exciting part has been seeing the product come to life and watching as people start to gravitate to it. There is something magical about watching others engage with the product that you built.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TREND OF THE UPCOMING SEASON?
The utilitarian trend is pretty awesome and we see it coming back now.
YOU ARE HAVING LUNCH WITH ANNA WINTOUR AND CARINE ROITFELD – WHAT DO YOU WEAR?
I would dress for me, not for them. We believe that the consumer creates the trend, not the one person at the top.
ANY STYLE TIPS?
Dress in what makes you feel good. If you feel beautiful then your style and personality will radiate from within.
