Local Insider New York City Guide: Heart and Noble Jewelry Designer Favorites

New York based Jewelry Designer Cri Gabrielle of Heart and Noble shares her favorite local spots in New York.

FAVORITE RESTAURANT
“If you enjoy Japanese cuisine and (lots of) sake, the counter style experience at Robataya is pretty delightful. The palette is highly dynamic yet wonderfully nuanced. I tried sea urchin for the first time here. The selection of mushrooms is not to be comprehended.”

FAVORITE NIGHTLIFE SPOT
“There’s something wonderful about cozying up to a cherry filled Negroni while perching on a plastic covered sofa and taking in the glowing lights of a forever present (albeit seasonally confused) Santa. There are few places with the magnetic grime of Welcome to the Johnson’s — they even have a jukebox, and a pool table too.”

FAVORITE SPOT FOR A COFFEE OR TEA
“Grabbing an espresso at Saturday’s Surf is always oddly calming. Maybe it’s about having found a mini haven in their pocket patio, maybe it’s about plugging into the urban zen like energy that permeates the place. The coffee is winning, the crowd charming. I don’t surf.”

BEST INTERNET CAFE
“I’m not too familiar with internet cafes in the city, however Korea Town certainly hosts the most compelling. Netzone Cafe in all its electric glory, not only provides printing & hourly services, it’s also known to host spontaneous gaming competitions for the more creative Internet cafe natives. Give it a go.”

FAVORITE SPOT TO RELAX OR UNWIND
“A wicked record store always brings my heart rate down. Rough Trade, an old favourite from my early London day’s finally made its way to Brooklyn a year or two ago to my absolute delight. Forever beguiling, the atmosphere is flawless in its ability to disarm and unplug.”
