WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR BLOG?
Blogging was initially a pet project I wanted to try out, so I could write about my love for fashion after being inspired by international fashion bloggers. Now it’s been three years and I take it quite seriously, in terms of the content and the images I put up online.
WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND YOUR BLOG NAME?
Naked Glory walked in my head when I was about 14 and I guess the name just kind of stuck in my mind and I decided to use it as my blog name since I liked the ring of it. I also like that it expresses that fashion should be about allowing people to dress however they like, without any inhibitions.
WHAT MAKES YOUR BLOG STAND OUT?
I think it’s the combination of beautiful imagery for personal style posts, combined with my writing for fashion, beauty and tips on living a cultured, elegant life.
DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL/SIGNATURE STYLE?
I don’t exactly have a signature style, as I dress according to my mood. I can be very sophisticated, ultra-feminine or even slightly boyish at times since I like to incorporate menswear into my wardrobe now and then.
I guess a good way to describe it would be structured, tailored and always well put together with a little bit of street mixed in.
WHO IS YOUR #1 FASHION ICON?
I love Nicole Warne for her colorblocking genius! And she is always so elegant.
FAVORITE LOCAL DESIGNERS?
Dries van Noten, Raf Simmons and Prabal Gurung have been my favourites for some time.
Park & Cube, Garypeppergirl, Lust for Life, Shine by Three, The Selby, The Coveteur.
FAVORITE ITEM IN YOUR CLOSET NOW?
FAVORITE BOOK, MOVIE + BAND?
Book: No personal favourite! I’ve read a lot of good ones but I particularly like Totto-chan.
Movie: Les fabuleux destins d’Amelie Poulain
Band: The xx
IF YOU WERE TO HAVE LUNCH WITH ANNA WINTOUR AND CARINE ROITFELD WHAT WOULD YOU WEAR?
That is extremely intimidating! I think I would wear a silk blue-grey blouse with a low v-neck, with a navy lace pencil skirt, top it off with a good boxy jacket and heels from Sophia Webster or Charlotte Olympia. Something quirky to balance off the feminine outfit.
SONG YOU HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO THE MOST/ON REPEAT?
Love me like I’m not made out of stone by Lykee Li!
BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE YOU EVER MADE?
Errrr… have I really made any? I don’t believe that fashion should have any rules, as long as you wear something withs style and confidence.
3 FASHION TIPS?
Always have these staples in your wardrobe: A Breton stripe shirt, leather shorts, a black blazer, a white blazer, a white t-shirt, a little black dress and some good ballet flats. All these are timeless items that would never go out of trend and can be paired in multiple ways to create different outfits.
Also shirt cuffs should not be folded and rolled up, they should be pulled up to elbow length and then folded so that the cuffs sticks out slightly.
Be aware of proportions and silhouettes – if I wear something oversized on the bottom, I would usually pair it with something more fitting on top.
FAVORITE SNACK/ PICK ME UP?
